Sticky notes, swimming metaphors, and a deep-dive into publishing my first series.

Writer's picture: Tessa K Tessa K

If there's one thing I wouldn't want to live without, it's my sticky notes. My desk, nightstand, purse--all have sticky notes handy. That, my purple ink pens, and a timer. (More on the timer another day.)

As I prepare to release my first series, I have plenty of sticky notes reminding me of the next logical publishing steps to take, the things I forgot to do yesterday, and the forget-me-nots for tomorrow because, with this writing gig, there's a lot to keep track of. Glad it's one of my true loves.

As I dive into the deep end of the publishing pool that I've been edging toward for a while now, I have all the same fluttery stomach feelings I had when I literally learned to dive, when a swim coach and others encouraged me from poolside to tuck my chin toward the diving board and launch into the unknown.

So, before I start this journey, I just want to say thank you, for joining me, for rooting me on silently or encouraging me with a kind word. I realize that taking a chance on my stories is an investment of your time and money--two valuable commodities. I hope you not only find them worth it but that, at some point, you might even jot on a sticky note of your own the upcoming date of Tessa's new release, maybe place a pre-order.

In the meantime, I'll be here, with that same flutter in my stomach, tucking my chin. Only this time, it'll be toward a board with keys instead of one that hangs precariously over water. Funny how they can both launch you into the unknown.

All my best,

Tessa
